The Apaches were hunter gatherers, they gathered many plants such as yucca, mescal, arrowhead, wild onions and berries. The men hunted deer, antelope, elk and buffalo. Apaches never fished and would not touch any animal that lived under water.
Apache tribes ranged over three different states and so they lived in several different styles of housing depending on where they live.
There was the hogan, the kowa, the wickiup, and the tipi.
Apaches used bows and arrows for hunting and battle, but in battle they also used long spears and buffalo hide shields.
Chief Cochise was a very famous leader of a band of Chiricahua Apaches in southern Arizona and northern Mexico.
